Proposed City Budget to Cost Arden Arcade Taxpayers Millions of Dollars

The cityhood incorporation committee which was funded by special interest groups such as waste haulers and law firms that contract with cities to provide their services created a proposed city budget that will spend millions in taxpayer dollars to duplicate government functions already provided to the 83,000 residents of the Arden Arcade area.

In addition to their first year $30 million annual budget, the proposed new city will be required to pay a whopping 45% in employee benefits on top of employee salaries. One of their biggest contracted line items in the budget is for more than $1 million dollars to hire a high priced city attorney and to contract with high priced law firms.

The proposed new city – under California State law – would have to reimburse Sacramento County $8.7 million in the first year and $219 million over a 35 year period for loss of sales tax revenue. Anticipated revenues in Arden Arcade are expected to fall short of the amount to reimburse the County.

And here is one fact that they don't tell you...All but one newly formed city within Sacramento County has incurred millions of dollars in costly bonded indebtedness.
