Letters
Sacramento Bee (Letter to the editor) - June 10, 2010
Re "Arden city boosters flub their big chance" (Editorial, June 9): I've felt all along that those pushing to incorporate Arden Arcade into a city of its own were searching for a political career of their own, and the latest articles clarify that for me completely.
I live in the area they want to incorporate, and I'm against incorporation and will not vote for it. The people organizing it haven't been forthcoming to anyone questioning them since their inception, and all their "flubs" just prove that yes, they are trying to hide something.
I would not want any of those heading this move to be in charge of a new city, and that's exactly what they're looking for. All they would do is provide themselves with an inflated salary, hire their friends and put us further in debt. I feel we should stay as part of Sacramento County. It's only 13 square miles … leave it as it is!

Would You Follow These Leaders
Sacramento Bee (Letter to the editor) - June 9, 2010
Re "Cityhood supporters said to violate laws" (Our Region, June 7): The attorney general says the would-be makers of an Arden Arcade city failed to follow the most basic of requirements for incorporation.
And it wouldn't be at all surprising that some of them harbor dreams of being future city leaders, if and when. Isn't that usually part of the package?
Heaven and time forbid.

Don't trust Arden Arcade group
Sacramento Bee (Letter to the editor) - June 8, 2010
The Arden Arcade Cityhood Committee cannot be trusted. For the past three years, the committee has taken more than $130,000 in taxpayer money intended for parks, recreation and other civic programs.
The Fulton-El Camino Recreation and Park District gave $20,000, and the Arden Manor Recreation and Park District gave $10,000 intended for recreation programs so they could fund a small group of people who are attempting to create a new city no one wants. Shame on these park districts and for using our money for your political gain.
