Proposed City of Arden Arcade To Have The Highest Number of Elected Politicians In The Region.

In a time when people are wanting less government, less waste and more accountability, those attempting to form a new city in Arden Arcade are seeking seven (7) elected politicians to serve on their city council. One of those 7 elected council members will be elected by the other council members to serve as mayor. Even Sacramento County Sheriff's Candidate and current Elk Grove Council member Jim Cooper says (SacBee - August 30, 2010) "We don't need to expand the City Council, people want less government, not more."

There is no other city in our area (except for the City of Sacramento which has 9 council members that serve a population of more than 450,000 residents) that has more than 5 city council members.

Look at these numbers:

City of Citrus Heights - 5 Council Members
City of Folsom - 5 Council Members

City of Galt - 5 Council Members

City of Rancho Cordova - 5 Council Members

City of Roseville - 5 Council Members

Proposed City of Arden Arcade - 7 Council Members for 83,000 residents

Why in the world would a proposed small city need 7 council members when other larger cities in the region have 5 council members?
