I support the no for city hood and would like a sign in my front yard saying so. Our neighborhood is very safe, very well kept up. Emergency response is quick for both the sheriff and the fire department. We have a wonderful family involved neighborhood that we also watch out for each other. We do not need someone telling us how to live in our community.
S.M.
I have had a lawn sign for several weeks, as have several of my neighbors. The signs were removed sometime this morning.

Just tired of more government. We need to fix the county and stay away from more policticians spending our tax dollars for their pockets.
T.S.
Cityhood is a terrible idea fueled and funded by people with selfish interests.
A.K.N.P.
We would love love love to have a huge sign for our house. also i have 10 neighbors that would like a sign for there lawn please.

I just received my sample ballot and below Measure D you are suppose to vote for no more than seven proposed City Council members; is this a two edge sword or what...I vote No and they are asking me who I want to represent our area...what is with this?????
S.N.
The “Yes on D” proponents keep saying that there will be no increased taxes. At a meeting I went to recently I asked them if they weren’t going to raise “taxes “, will there be increased “fees”, and the answer was yes, there would be new fees. I don’t think this has been publicized widely, but the “no new taxes” is purely semantics, because there will be additional “fees”, which they don’t want people to know, but they have to answer the question when asked.

I do not want another layer of government. Most of the people pushing and talking the most about becoming a city want to be the new city government. Why should I trust them to run the government, when they have trouble obeying the law in running their campaign. "Arden Arcade" is already built out and so will not be adding more development to pay for this new city. I do not want to have to go to the expensive and trouble of changing my city location on everything from bank accounts, driver license, subscriptions, and telling all of my friends...

I have been a renter for 9 years; work closely with the County of Sacramento in my work and I don't believe that breaking up the county into small cities is a responsible way to proceed. We need to advocate more for those things we are unhappy about.
J.F.
Nothing is for free, safer streets and cleaner with no new taxes. right and I have some swamp land on the moon for sale.
B.MW.
without a strong commercial base, a new city will not be self supporting.

Thank you for taking on this effort. I've lived happily in Arden Arcade for over 15 years and don't see the need to change our government structure. The minute Arden Arcade becomes its own city, it will have incurred millions of dollars in debt that we taxpayers will pay for - along with the high salaries, pensions, car allowances, etc. that the pushers of cityhood will expect. The businesses they depend on for sales tax revenue have dried up and won't recover to the previous level for several years, so where's the money to fund a new city to come from. Also, I haven't experienced any "problem" that being a city would have mitigated, and I just don't see that the Arden Arcade area has deteriorated under county government all these years.
K.S.
I would like to have a lawn sign for No on Cityhood and hope that the sign does not get stolen. Just shows you what kind of people you are dealing with...no morals at all. Just think what would happen if Measure D were approved. More fraud and waste...taking advantage of the taxpayers' money just like it is nationwide. It's only getting worse.
A.B.
Another layer of Government at this time is not required, this is just another ploy for those who desire to become local high paid politicians.and supported by special interest groups. Follow the money!

Cityhood is a bad idea. Only reason for it is to pad some pockets.

I have lived in Sacramento all my life, and have resided in the Arden Arcade area for 6 years... I badly want to keep our Sacramento identity. NO ARDEN ARCADE CITYHOOD!!
S.M.
Incorporation would be a huge mistake!! Businesses like William Glen closing or leaving the area mean our tax base is shrinking, not growing!!
S.M.
I am definitely opposed to Measure D!
K.D.
I see no need to add a third layer of government.
L.F.H.
Excellent website. Thanks for your work.
D. & S. A.
I do not want to have this area become a city. It think it is way too much expense and just a few people wanting to be in politics that we do not need.
N. & E. B.
In these economic times, what are these people thinking. Who is going to pay for the mayor, police force, extra taxes????? I am a state worker with furloughs and cut in pay. We cannot afford any extra crooked politicians or law enforcement in the state let alone in our neighborhoods. Leave Sacramento, Sacramento. It's not broken.
V.M.
This is a fiscally irresponsible effort to create another city in the County.
R.T.
At the beginning of the arden arcade city process i found the idea an interesting prospect...I have now spoken to my neighbors and read much of your website so have changed my mind. I have also watched the tax base that might have been viable dwindle significantly.
A.K.
I don't see anything positive coming from Measure D
S.M.
A new city is something we can not afford. More people doing what is already being done.
B.O.
Fiscally irresponsible!

We want to stay Carmichael. Cityhood would incur higher budget and costs for the residents affected. Staying Sacramento/Carmichael is in everyone's best interest.
J.F.
(note, a portion of Carmichael is included in the City of Arden Arcade proposed boundary area)
I used to live in Elk Grove, grew up in Elk Grove and really liked living there. I thought, eh city hood would be a good thing, right? YEAH, BULL! I hate driving there now to visit my parents, I hate the sprawl that money-greedy politicians have supported and fostered...it's just bad. I don't want that up here.
R.F.
I don't want to pay more taxes
T.M.
We are not in favor of cityhood!
R.M.K.
More government, more taxes, and when the economy can least tolerate more stress on the system. The benefits for our area are non-existent. Only deficits, costs, and declines in services currently received. No on cityhood, STAY Sacramento! (A Sacramento native) Who ever heard of "Arden Arcade?" I live in SACRAMENTO!!!!!
B.U.
As a retired person on a fixed income I worry about the extra financial problems cityhood will bring. Also, this will just add to attacks on Prop 13.
G.H.
I support all efforts to stop Arden from becoming a city. Just looking at all the fees and hikes from the city of Sacramento from being a former resident is enough for me to never want to be in a city again!
B.R.
We can't afford the cost of cityhood.
J.R.S.
Thanks for heading up this effort. It's obvious to me its about power and control and it will!!!!!! cost us more money and less services. I will donate when I can.
L.L.
The efforts to make the Arden Arcade area into a city is wrong and misguided. I believe we cannot afford to become a city and that those who want cityhood are out to create a situation where thay can have power. It also appears that at least one in the pro-cityhood movement may be little more than Johnny-come-lately to our area and a bit of a carpetbagger.
F.M.
We like living in 'Sacramento' - not 'Arden Arcade'!!
